RV SLIDE OUT

Information on our replacement awning fabric.

QUESTION:

I have a late model coachman with a slide out. I went to close it the other day and when it got all the way in, I heard a pop. I never heard that noise before, so I tried to open the slide and the motor just made the normal sound but it wouldn’t go back out. Any ideas? Thanks.

ANSWER:

It sounds like you sheared a drive pin in your RV’s slide drive mechanism. To be sure, you’re going to have to get underneath your RV, find access to your 5th wheel slide out drive gears and observe what is going on while someone inside your 5th wheel engages the slide out switch. You will probably find the motor rotating and slide gears are not moving. Depending upon ease of access to your slide-out drive system, you can then determine if you want to try to repair the problem yourself.

Good luck and let me know if you need any more help.
